Legends of Runeterra: Haunted

This set was built using the Bottom Up method, starting with the idea of a new stackable keyword that allows the creation of a new unit when the original one dies. With this idea in mind, I then chose the region and, lastly, the champion to bring it to life.

Haunted is a stackable keyword (a mechanic similar to counters in other TCGs) that creates a Unit whose strength depends on the number of stacks when the Unit with it dies, making it versatile as both a reward and a way to generate more sacrifice fodder for other strategies.

For the champion, I settled on Yorick, whose gameplay in League of Legends revolves around accumulating graves beside him and then awakening creatures from them. This concept was close enough to the keyword’s idea to make him a good fit, allowing fans of the champion to enjoy this adaptation while still giving me enough freedom to design an interesting card on its own.
